Strong Enough to Rest is a small, in-person yoga nidrā offering for people who are tired of pushing, coping, and holding it all together.

This is not a class where you’re asked to stretch, move, improve, or optimise yourself; it’s a guided practice of yogic sleep: a systematic, intentional resting practice that supports nervous-system regulation, mental clarity, and deep restoration.
You arrive. You lie down. You’re guided into rest.
What happens in a session
Each session centres on a full, uninterrupted yoga nidrā practice.
You’ll be guided through:
- Gentle settling and orientation
- A structured yoga nidrā journey (resting comfortably throughout)
- Time to re-emerge slowly, without rush (including optional cuppa & homemade dairy- and egg-free snack)
There’s no movement sequence and no physical effort required.
You don’t need to concentrate, visualise clearly, or “switch your mind off”.
Your only job is to rest as best you can – even if that feels imperfect.
Many people leave feeling calmer, clearer, and more grounded, often without being able to explain exactly why.
What yoga nidrā is (and isn’t)
Yoga nidrā is a traditional yogic practice designed to guide the body into deep rest while the mind remains gently aware.
It isn’t meditation where you sit upright, it isn’t relaxation music or a body scan and it isn’t about drifting off or trying to feel a certain way.
You may feel deeply relaxed’; you may feel emotional; you may feel very little at all; all of these experiences are valid within the practice.
Who this is for
Strong Enough to Rest is for you if:
- You feel chronically tired, wired, or overstimulated
- Rest feels unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or undeserved
- You’re good at functioning, but quietly exhausted
- You want nervous‑system support without intensity or performance
No yoga experience is needed, you don’t need to be flexible, spiritual, calm, or “good” at resting.
Who this might not be for
This may not be the right space if:
- You’re looking for a physical yoga class or movement‑based practice
- You want techniques aimed at productivity, self‑optimisation, or “fixing” yourself
This practice is about allowing, not achieving.
What to expect on the day
- Sessions last about 75 minutes
- The space will be quiet, warm, and softly lit
- You’ll be lying down or otherwise resting comfortably for the entire practice
Blankets are provided, you’re welcome to bring:
- A pillow for comfort
- Extra layers
- A favourite blanket or plushie if that helps you feel supported
Please wear whatever feels most comfortable – pyjamas are always welcome.

A gentle note on rest
If rest feels difficult, emotional, or out of reach, that doesn’t mean you’re doing yoga nidrā wrong; often, it means your system hasn’t had many opportunities to feel safe enough to stop.
Strong Enough to Rest isn’t about forcing relaxation – it’s about practising rest, again and again, in a way that meets you where you are.
